Volunteer Roles

Volunteer positions at the New Zealand Open cover a wide range of roles. We require enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate volunteers who want to have fun and who can donate their time and energy to bring this fantastic event to life. Whether you are a golfer or not, we have a number of roles that will suit you:

  • Course Marshals
  • On Course Leaderboards
  • Caddy Jackets
  • Walker Scorers
  • Mobile Scoreboards
  • Shuttle Drivers
  • Driving Range
  • Scores Receivers & Computer Scores Input
  • Volunteer HQ

In general, volunteers are asked to complete a minimum of four shifts during the Tournament. Most tasks have an a.m and p.m shift and will be at either Millbrook Resort (being used for competition play on Thursday & Friday only) or The Hills (being used for all four competition days). Most volunteers will be required to start early in the morning each day and report to the volunteer HQ area before the start of play.

NZ Open Volunteers

Four Day Volunteer Roles Includes:

  • 1 x chance draw for 2020 pro am spot as amateur
  • 1 x round golf at either The Hills or Millbrook
  • 1 x volunteer polo shirt
  • 1 x volunteer cap
  • Lunch daily over tournament week
  • 1 x 4 day volunteer pass at Millbrook & Hills
  • 1 x volunteer car park pass – both courses

Clubs "Adopt a hole"

We encourage clubs to bring a group of members and friends together, to "adopt a hole" and make it yours to marshal for the duration of the tournament. Dependant on the size of your group we can allocate you a par 3, 4 or 5 hole.

Active ownership of a hole during the tournament can promote member involvement and instil New Zealand Open.
